Pag is a large island in the south of the Kvarner Gulf, actually closer to Zadar than to Rijeka. It is known for its many coves, beaches, bays and pretty coastline. Reached by bridge from mainland Dalmatia, mostly rocky and dry, tourism has always been popular on Pag. A well-known beach-driven nightlife town is Novalja with its old time favorite camp site Strasko and world renowned Zrce Beach offering live entertainment and chique restaurants. Besides its excellent seafood and wines, delicacies are Pag cheese (Paski Sir) and its salty lambs meat. Npvalja is also the location of the Stomorica Archaeological Museum and the Novalja Town Museum where you can find artifacts picked up from archeological excavations. Other towns well worth exploring are Stara Novalja, Lun, Povljana and Caska.

There are plenty of historic highlights dating back to Roman times. You can explore the only remaining Skrivanat Wall Tower inside Pag Town, you can visit the 15th century Duke's Palace or take a look at the Roman wells in Kolanjsko Polje. The quiet countryside has many beautiful hiking and mountain biking tracks leading you to dazzling beauty of nearby beaches and coves. Diving can be done all around Pag but some places are better than others. You can catch a dive boat that brings you to Premuda Island famous for its spectacular cathedrals or dive to a shipwreck from the 1st century Before Christ in the bay of Vlaška Mala with many real amphoras. There are plenty of spots where you can snorkel right off the beach. Wherever you go, get your scuba diving gear and take a boat trip to one of its many excellent dive sites.
